Carolina Panthers Draft Mississippi WR Jonathan Mingo 39th Overall
Ole Miss wide receiver Jonathan Mingo is the newest member of the Carolina Panthers after they selected him 39th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The 6'2", 220-pound wideout has a little more athleticism than he does production to his name, but the potential was enough for him to be a Day 2 pick in the draft.
Jonathan Mingo NFL Draft Profile
Mingo lacks an early breakout age (i.e. he didn't have a huge year in college until his final season), which is usually a bit of a red flag if your best production comes when you have more of an age advantage over your collegiate peers.
Mingo didn't clear 400 receiving yards until 2022 when he put up 861 on 51 catches, though he played only six games as a junior due to a broken foot.
With top-50-in-the-nation totals in both deep yards (31st) and screen yards (416), via PFF, Mingo has a unique run-after-catch and deep-threat potential.

With a new quarterback -- number-one overall pick Bryce Young -- in Carolina, the offense will be a bit different than it has been in recent seasons.
